Synopsis

The life of these people was real hell: they were bullied, manipulated, betrayed by the closest family. Society tried to lock them behind high walls of special institutions and to forget about them. They had no hope. No right to the future. Everything changed when sports broke into their lives and opened up for them a new world full of thrilling possibilities. But is the world ready to accept them?.. This film is about the test of the ability to love, feel compassion, forgive and believe.

Director's Biography

MARIA FINKELSHTEIN was born in Chelyabinsk, USSR. In 2007 she graduated from VGIK (class of documentary directing of B.Karadzhev and E.Reznikov). From 2014–2017 she was editor-in-chief of the TV channel 24_DOC. Since 2017, Maria has headed the documentary section on the TV channel “Rossiya 1”. SVETLANA MUZYCHENKO was born in Khabarovsk, USSR. Finished the Novosibirsk Theatre College. Worked as an actress in Novosibirsk and St. Petersburg. Graduated from VGIK (class of A.Kochetkov), since 2003 she is a teacher, head of the documentary workshop together with S.Miroshnichenko, assistant professor at the department of documentary films at VGIK. Prizewinner of many international film festivals (Karlovy Vary, Seattle, Tampere, etc.).
